Harbour Gallery Supports PODS

Since April 2019, the Harbour Gallery artists have been donating 10% of the sale price of many of their paintings to PODS. The idea came about when they were deciding on a theme for their annual Spring Show. Feeling increasingly alarmed at the number of plastic filled whales washing up on beaches worldwide, and the rapid deterioration of our life sustaining oceans, they named their show, “Save our Salish Sea”.   Paintings ranged from expressing the fragility and beauty of our local environment to the feelings of anger and despair over the folly of our human actions. This fundraiser by the artists continues. “It is their way of supporting the positive environmental and community work done by the Lagoon Society, PODS and the citizen scientists who spend countless hours monitoring our Salish Sea.” The Harbour Gallery will be open on the Saturday of the Fall Fair.  BTW, rumour has it they have a new member and she is sitting painting at the foot of the driveway of the Pender Harbour Cultural Centre.
